Smoothie Time! Since I haven’t posted a smoothie recipe in, like, a few weeks, I thought it was about time. LOLs
This is a good one, too. Almond Joy Smoothie!
I never thought I would ever say or write this sentence about a smoothie, but..
This is a stick-to-your-ribs kind of smoothie. That’s right. It can be pretty thick, but it also has a lot of good fats that keep you going all day.
Seriously.
The first time I made this, it was first thing in the morning. It wasn’t until 3 o’clock before I realized I forgot to eat lunch because I was just never hungry. Really!
And I have had many times since when I wasn’t going to have a whole lot of time during the day, just because I knew I wouldn’t get hungry.
And it has all of those great flavors of an almond joy candy bar.
Now, to be honest, I was never a fan of almond joy. Or mounds. Because I can’t stand the squeak that coconut makes on your teeth when you eat it. Like nails on a chalkboard to me.
Squeeeeeeak, squeeeeak. Ugh! How can any of you people stand it?! Squeeeeeeak, squeeeeak.
But I LOVE coconut flavor. Pina Coladas, coconut milk in curries, etc. Yummmmmmmy!
That got me to thinking. If I could just blend the you-know-what out of the coconut, maybe I wouldn’t get the Squeeeeeeak, squeeeeak.
I love it when a plan comes together.
So, below you have the Almond Joy Smoothie. Lots of great almond and coconut flavor. Thick and hearty to last just about all day. And some healthy greens in there to get some vitamins, too.
